Cooler than an H3T - 1984 Land Rover One Ten

Land Rover sold the Defender 90 and 110 briefly in the USA in the 90's, and they command a premium price today. In Europe, however, the Defender has been sold consistently since 1983. Originally known as the Ninety and the One Ten, the name was changed to Defender in 1990. This right-hand-drive One Ten is available in the Netherlands for roughly $16,500.

As this vehicle is registered in Europe as a 1984, it is eligible to be imported to the USA (shipping costs less than $1000 to the East coast). Any vehicle over 25 years old is exempt from DOT and EPA restrictions on imports. The unique thing about this 1984 One Ten is that it's actually comprised of components from later models. The chassis and the front end are from a 1984 model, but the truck was restored with a later double cab body, interior, and bulletproof 200TDI engine.

This seller restores Land Rovers, Minis, and Mercedes G-Wagens and is experienced with sending cars to the USA. They also have a US partner in Pennsylvania. If a unique 4x4 is what you're looking for, an imported, modernized Land Rover is easy enough to get and FAR cheaper than a NAS (North American Specification) Defender 90 or 110.

The listing for this One Ten can be found at http://www.riverhousemini.com/.
