There are a lot of great car blogs out there. A lot of good forums, too. It seems to me, though, that there aren't a whole lot of venues dedicated exclusively to grey market cars (or gray market cars for that matter), so I thought I'd try my hand at it. I'm no writer, so this may not work out so well, but it's free and easy enough so here goes.
I should start off by giving my definition of "grey market." I use this term to mean any vehicle that was originally manufactured for markets excluding the USA, but which has been properly imported to the states in such a way that it can be titled and legally driven here. Some may have a more comprehensive definition of the term, or a looser one, but this is what I'd like to cover here.
Why do I care so much about grey market cars? Maybe it's because I have a preference for things that I'm not allowed to have... Maybe I just like to be different, even if 99% of people have no idea. Maybe it's the challenge. Sometimes it's tough to pinpoint just why we like what we like.
With this blog I'd like to try and list cars that I find for sale, as well as places to buy grey market cars, stories from myself and others, and general information. I encourage you to write me with submissions, ideas, and input so this site can grow and we can cover wide ranges of topics related to grey market cars. Please use the comment page as well, it's a great way to discuss the topics with other enthusiasts. You don't even need an account.
I'm going to try and keep the posts unique to this blog. I read Just a Car Geek, Autoblog, Bring a Trailer, and Two Seats or Less daily and I don't want to duplicate their postings or pull readers away from these excellent sites.
So... thanks for reading... and enjoy!
